Making your way to Chemnitz

The best way to find us

You can come to Chemnitz with very different means of transportation: by car, plane or train.

Travelling by car
Chemnitz is very well connected to the German motorway network. You can take the Autobahnen A4 or A72. If you wish to travel to the campus on Reichenhainer Straße you should take the exit Chemnitz-Süd. If you travel on the A4 you must take the exit to A72 in direction Hof at the Chemnitz motorway interchange.

Travelling by plane
Chemnitz itself does not have an airport. Therefore you must travel from your arrival airport to Chemnitz by train. If your plane arrives at one of the international airports like Frankfurt am Main or Munich it is recommended to take another plane to Dresden or Leipzig. Within Europe many airlines offer direct flights to Leipzig or Dresden. The airport in Berlin is also a very good alternative.

Travelling by train
If you travel by train it is most likely you will have to change trains in Dresden or Leipzig. You can take a train to Chemnitz every hour from both cities. The best place to get off the train in Chemnitz is the main train station. From there you take the bus number 51 to get to the campus on Reichenhainer Straße. The bus stop is a 3 minute walk from the train station.
